Lilli Luxe: The Journey of a Plus-Size Model Who Took Control of Her Health and Career

Lilli Luxe, a 32-year-old model from Ohio, has faced challenges in her modelling career due to her weight. Inspired by old Hollywood icons like Marilyn Monroe and Brigitte Bardot, Lilli carved out a successful career as a plus-size model. Her popularity soared in 2014 when she was signed by an agency after one of her fans suggested she try commercial plus-size modelling. However, she faced challenges when she lost weight in 2016 and her energy levels decreased.

Lilli decided to revamp her diet and exercise to become more toned, which decreased her weight to 159 lbs and a dress size of 10. Despite the benefits of increased energy and confidence in her own skin, Lilli faced criticism from her followers on social media who preferred her previous, larger size. She received negative comments and even received messages from followers who told her they were unfollowing her because she was losing too much weight.

Lilli says there is little room in the industry for medium-sized girls like her and that her first step was to document the food she ate to calculate how many calories she was consuming. She was shocked to discover that she was consuming 3,500 calories a day, which prompted her to change her lifestyle. She now prepares healthy meals every Sunday to avoid the temptation of takeaways and goes to the gym four times a week.

Despite some negative feedback from followers, Lilli has received positive comments from many of them and remains confident in her decision to become healthier. She states she does not regret the decision and feels more confident in her own skin. Lilli has learned to embrace her new, healthier body and continues to inspire others to do the same.

In conclusion, Lilli Luxe’s journey highlights the challenges that models face in the fashion industry, particularly in terms of their weight. Despite the criticism and loss of modelling jobs, Lilli has learned to embrace her new body and continue to inspire others to do the same. The industry must embrace diversity and recognize that beauty comes in all shapes and sizes. Models should be encouraged to pursue a healthy lifestyle, rather than being pressured to conform to a particular body type.
